Car Insurance Quotes
Bentley
are now owned by the VW Group, which means their more recent
cars benefit from VW-sourced parts, engines, development and
testing. This has resulted in a much more solid and reliable
development base which has produced some great models, the most
well-known being - The Bentley Continental. Whilst this carries
over the W12 and platform from the Phaeton development era,
it is packaged exquisitely as a high-end luxury motor car that
exudes presence and wealth on the road. The Bentley is a heavyweight
in every sense of the word, from fuel consumption to vehicle
weight, CO2 emissions and car tax brackets, the Bentley Continental
comes in at the top for almost all of them. But if you are in
the market of the Bentley Continental, things like miles per
gallon or car tax brackets will not be a matter of thought for
you. Bentley Continentals are also top of their game for depreciation
– you can pick up a well-cared-for 6 or 7 year old example
with 60,000 miles on the clock for around a third of its original
price currently. Now that’s a bargain.
Running
costs however can be quite high, servicing costs are something
you should consider and do your research on first. Wheels and
tyres are huge and wide – a new set of tyres easily costing
north of £1000. Repairs to the body-work can also be costly,
as can engine work, so make sure you get all the checks done
before you buy one, or alternatively search for one that still
has a warranty or comes with an extended warranty. The Bentley
Continental is a superb ownership proposition if you have deep
enough pockets, and car insurance actually shouldn’t be
too astronomical – even though the engine is huge –
as ultimately it’s VW W12 motor under the hood (well tested
and reliable) and the car has excellent security and safety
features on it. Just make sure you get a tracker fitted to really
keep your car insurance premiums down to a minimum.
