If you are a student then you probably have an NUS Card, however your NUS card only lasts as long as you remain in University. Once you graduate you are no longer eligible for your NUS discounts and your NUS card becomes invalid.

However not many people know that you can also get a graduate NUS card, this is basically a lifetime membership to the National Students Union and affords you continued discounts and deals as though you were still a student. In order to apply for a graduates NUS card, you should speak to your university's students union presidential team who will point you in the right direction and give you the necessary application forms to fill out. Although there is a cost involved for the membership, if you have generally used your NUS card for its various discounts whilst you were a student then it's still worthwhile considering a graduate NUS card so you can continue to get similar deals after you leave university.

Another perk of owning a graduate NUS card, is that it still grants you access to most students unions around the UK, meaning if you're ever in a town or city and fancy a cheap pint and a great night out but the local nightlife looks a bit dodgy, then the local students union doors will be wide open to you instead!
