Always make sure someone on land, (a family member, Coastguard or Harbour Master) knows the following information before setting off on any boat journey:

Your name/s and a contact phone number

What kind of boat you are on

Where you are going and what time you left

What time you are due back

Other Very Important Things To Ensure Before Leaving:

Make sure you have enough serviceable lifejackets

Make sure you have an in-date set of flares

Make sure you have a VHF radio

Make sure you have a First Aid Kit

Make sure you have sufficient fuel for your journey

Ensure you have suitable clothing and enough food/water should anything go wrong
